Sunday School

During the fall, winter and spring we have Sunday School classes for children and adults. The children’s classes are in the church basement, the middle school and high school meet at the Martins (next door), and the adult classes are upstairs.

There are two adult Sunday School classes currently taught at Lake Pointe:

Beginning Sunday, February  5, we will be starting two new adult classes: Hebrews, taught by Mark Bartlett, and our Discovery (membership) Class led by Pastor Dean Johnson and Chad Walters.

At first read, the book of Hebrews seems to deal with issues that are not on our list of hot topics.  But underneath the topics the original audience was dealing with, is an important question for all of us: Do we really place our faith in Jesus?  Hebrews warns us not to drift away as we deal with the things that are pressing us every day.  It encourages us to “draw near” and to “hold fast” because he who promised is faithful.  It challenges us to lay aside every hinderance and run the race of faith that is set before us.  And Hebrews warns us that there are serious consequences for those who refuse to listen to God.  Wherever you might be in you walk, Hebrews will challenge you to examine afresh your faith and how you live that out every day.

The Discovery Class is an introduction to Lake Pointe Bible Church and deals primarily with what we believe and who we are, as well as how you can become fully involved in our program.  If you are new to LPBC, and you are interested in joining us in membership, then you will need to commit to this class for the next twelve weeks.
